The Pros and Cons of Drinking Coffee

If you’re a coffee drinker, you could be on the path to longevity. It turns out that coffee drinkers tend to live longer than non-coffee drinkers. One reason is that coffee contains caffeine, which has been found to block age-related inflammation. Age-related inflammation is responsible for visible signs of aging, as well as an increased risk of serious diseases and health conditions ranging from developing type 2 diabetes to cancer and cardiovascular disease. Keeping in mind that an excessive amount of caffeine per day elevates blood pressure and can pose other serious health risks, a little to a moderate amount of caffeine each day may go a long way in actually benefitting your health. Caffeine can be found in coffee and tea, both of which help many people get revved up for the day.
